Sahara Hospitality Co. SAOG awards Construction Contract to M/s Carillion Alawi LLC.
Sahara Hospitality Co. SAOG (SHC) has awarded a construction contract to M/s Carillion Alawi LLC. The contract is to build additional accommodation and recreation facilities in the Sahara owned and operated Permanent Accommodation for Contractors (PACs) at Fahud and Nimr. It includes the construction of 240 additional rooms, swimming pools, squash courts as well as extension of other support facilities. The construction of additional facilities are expected to be completed and operational by end of December 2007.
Sahara currently owns and operates 384 and 264 rooms at Fahud and Nimr PACs respectively having residential accommodation, meals & dining halls, kitchens, storage for frozen, dry & freshes, recreational facilities including outdoor games, beverage outlets, laundries and medical clinics appropriately demarcated for use by various levels of inmates as relevant. This construction project will meet the need of additional accommodation facilities at both PACs enhancing shareholders value further in the years to come.
The PAC Projects have been developed under contract with Petroleum Development Oman LLC (PDO), the single largest oil producer of Oman to have permanent accommodation for its contractor personnel to have residential, messing, recreational and medical facilities under one roof with a view to standardise the amenities as enjoyed by its own staff at the remote operational locations.
